We asked Linda ( Cinnamon ) to take a couple minutes out of her busy schedule to chat with us about her time at Sandbar, her involvement at the restaurant, and what she enjoys most outside of her worklife.
1.) How did you get started in the restaurant industry?
L.L.: Before relocating to Florida, I worked part-time at a seafood restaurant in Maryland. I worked one night a week when I initially started, but that quickly expanded to five years. I wanted to stay busy and be among people as soon as I arrived in Florida. I once went to Sandbar for lunch with my mother. I inquired about employment because I was so impressed by the atmosphere of the place.
2.) How long have you been with Sandbar Tiki & Grille?
L.L.: I have been with Sandbar since the first day it opened (7 ½ years).
3.) What is your favorite part of working at Sandbar Tiki & Grille?
L.L.: My favorite part of working at Sandbar is interacting with the customers and hearing their stories. I get to interact with individuals from all over the world. I like getting to know the customers and building relationships with the local ones. Lastly, assisting with HR duties and collaborating with the management team.
4.) What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
L.L.: Outside of work I spend my time with my chiweenie Lucy Lou, going out with friends, going to fellowship church, cooking, and binge watching my favorite shows.
5.) What brought you to Englewood?
L.L.: In 1986, my mother resided in Englewood, and I would frequently visit her there. After some time, I persuaded myself that I wanted to try something new and that Englewood was where I should be. I’ve enjoyed every second of my time in Florida.
Come and meet Linda at SandBar Tiki & Grille in Englewood, FL! While you’re there, why not enjoy a delicious meal and catch some live music?
